FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between the eJet/Lufthansa joint program and fixed-price insurance programs available from other companies?

eJet and Lufthansa Technik offer a comprehensive, fixed-price solution for maintenance, not an insurance program where the security of paid-in capital is a concern for clients. While the eJet/LHT program offers fixed-cost pricing per flight hour, eJet/LHT will directly coordinate and manage repairs and associated logistics.

Until eJet, private airliner operators have had two options for comprehensive support.

The first option is a prepaid maintenance savings plan that can adjust your base hourly rate by up to 20% per year based on the full retail value of parts and services used each year, versus what the operator has paid in to the program. In addition, shipping and handling fees are extra, engine coverage is pro-rata, every No Fault Found exchanged part is charged a full re-stocking and recertification fee and non-covered parts can only be purchased at full retail list price.

The second option has been a third party insurance program that owns no spare parts, no engines, no APU’s and no infrastructure.  Money paid into the trust may be used for investment activities other than aircraft maintenance.

Neither option offers the same cost confidence and long-term security of the eJet program.

eJet has negotiated airline fleet based pricing for its power by the hour programs with the largest and most reputable Maintenance and Repair Organizations in the industry. We aggregate individual owners and small airlines under our power by the hour contracts to provide our customers with wholesale airline fleet pricing while providing the concierge level service expected from corporate operators. Further, we fully fund the MRO’s (Lufthansa Technik, Delta Tech Ops) on a monthly basis as is required by eJet’s contracts with them.

What is your engine buy-in?

There is no engine buy-in, either up-front or at the time of overhaul.  Engine cost per flight hour is all-inclusive and provides full LLP coverage from day 1, not pro rata coverage like other programs.

Does eJet staff maintenance controllers?

eJet has hired industry experts including program managers and maintenance control directors. Enrolled operators have 24/7/365 access to experts for their specific aircraft types for troubleshooting, technical and engineering support.

Do you offer global support?

The eJet program has customers in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Only eJet offers direct support and concierge service to customers around the world, leveraging the parts, components, and global line maintenance capability of top-tier MRO partners. Parts and components are shipped to the closest airport with commercial air service. eJet regularly organizes line and heavy maintenance activities for customers as part of its core service offering.

How do you charge for shipping?

Shipping and standard logistics costs are included in the fixed-cost pricing. eJet and Lufthansa Technik provide shipment to the closest airport with commercial air service. eJet can arrange transfer of parts and components to private facilities from the nearest commercial airport at extra cost. eJet has negotiated favorable rates for customs and expediting services that are passed on to customers.
